Medical Missions Abroad

Migrant Students Foundation (MSF) and International Service Learning (ISL) have partnered to offer student leaders nationwide the opportunity to serve abroad. ISL medical missions offer an opportunity of a lifetime for MSF’s growing national network of Chavez Challenge Student Organizers on 300+ college/universities. ISL’s 22-year experience of coordinating meaningful study-abroad experiences for college students as well as infrustracture in 12 Latin American countries provide safety, in-country support, and funding mechanisms that fascilitates the experience.

Volunteers will participate in community health surveys, village triage, clinics and seminars.  Seminars include tropical medicine, triage, pharmacology, clinic organization, and medical Spanish.  All teams collaborate closely with local health professionals to facilitate community health education and outreach.  Other activities may include tutoring, attending cultural events, learning about coffee agriculture and other related industries, horseback riding, swimming in natural hot springs, ziplining, hiking and shopping.
